The specific objectives and purpose of Beacon Focus will be:

To increase the number of under-represented (at-risk) students who graduate from high school with sufficient interest and preparation in Mathematics, Science, and English to pursue a college degree;
To provide a pre-college academic enrichment program to at-risk students;
To develop and implement an historical trail of African-American culture; and
To conduct African-American history quiz bowls via public discussion groups, forums, panels, lectures or other similar programs.
